About East Anglia Care Homes
Committed to providing residential and nursing care in Norfolk for 35 years
East Anglia Care Homes is a family owned care home business. It provides both residential and nursing care including NHS continuing care, dementia care and end of life care.
Its first care home, Halvergate House in North Walsham, opened its doors in 1989. This was a Georgian house which the company converted and extended to provide well appointed facilities for 35 residents in a beautiful, tranquil setting. All bedrooms had en-suite facilities, TV and telephone as standard, something very unusual at the time. In 2005 the home was extended to add further 15 large bedrooms, all en-suite with showers.
The second care home, Sutherlands in Wymondham opened in 1996. It was designed and purpose built by East Anglia Care Homes and provides facilities for 49 residents. The design profited from the knowledge gained from Halvergate House and also from research into design features that would better meet the needs of residents in the future. The design was ahead of its time then and it is pleasing to note that it still sets the standard for new built facilities.
Having spent thirty five years providing care in Norfolk, East Anglia Care Homes deeply understands what care is about, the needs and anxieties of people who come into care and those closest to them. We work hard to make sure that our residents and their families are satisfied when when our care homes become their choice. We are proud of the warm and homely atmosphere we nurture across our care home and we are, of course, always pleased when this is remarked on by residents, their families and other visitors.
